DVD PRESENTATION: ART IN THE MAKING ITALIAN PAINTING BEFORE 1400

TOURS OF BELOVED: FOCUS ON PAINTING INVOLVING GOLD
For today's tour of Beloved the focus will be on paintings which involve gold.
Tour participants will have the chance to win a 25 carat gold dessert for two.

DEMONSTRATION: THE ART OF GLIDING - APPLYING GOLD TO ARTWORKS
Jenny Sherman, The Dunedin Art Gallery Conservator, will demonstrate the art of gliding when applying gold to artworks. This will take place in the Beloved exhibition. All Welcome.

GO FOR GOLD
Students will investigate the use of gold, or imitation gold, in works or art and frames, and create their own artwork featuring gold foil.

THE CHINESE ON THE GOLDFIELDS
This visit is based around the film Illustrious Energy which depicts the true story of two Chinese goldminers in Otago. Students will respond to this moving story by creating an artwork.

14TH CENTURY ITALIAN PANEL PAINTINGS
Students will study historic religious works that feature the use of gold. They will also view a DVD showing the techniques of using egg tempera paint and gold leaf.
